2017 Treks & Travels
So first thing first, we have to apologise for our lack of blogging over the last couple of months, the beginning of the year has really just disappeared. Much to our disgust we haven’t had the chance to get away for a night or two, but MR. has been out scoping new camp locations and 4wd spots.
We have attempted to go camping, but it happened to be the weekend where in Perth we had record rain and floods. We’d set up camp with friends and noticed the river we were camped by (we checked all warnings before leaving) was continuing to rise and quickly. We packed up and headed for home not arriving till 1am. So yep still haven’t done an overnight camping trip. At least we had an enjoyable afternoon by the river and some great night driving on the trails heading home.
We’re pretty excited for the Treks & Travels we have planned for 2017. This year is going to be a busy one we're travelling to some of our favourite locations while also getting to experience new ones. This year is a real mixture of trekking with the Paj and travelling and exploring other countries.
So here is what we have planned so far…
Bali- We love this island! Bali for us is a place to relax and recharge. This year we are heading up with a group of friends and will get to explore surrounding islands. I think Bali is really what you make it, we try go up once a year and will share our favourite places with you shortly.
USA- We’ve been wanting to go back to the New York since spending Christmas there in 2013. We have 4 weeks in the US, moving from west to east and even attempting to road trip some of it. I'm not going to lie we're petrified of driving on the wrong side of the road, but I’m really excited I get to spend the big 3-0 in NYC, my favourite city!
Coral Coast and Karijini- Our last big trip for the year and we jump back in the trusty steed. We’re heading back up the Coral Coast, exploring Coral Bay finally making our way to Exmouth and the Ningaloo reef. Here we are spending a week snorkelling and celebrating with friends. We then are heading inland to Karijini National Park. We are both really looking forward to exploring Karijini and would have loved to have gone when we did our Kimberley trip last year, but just ran out of time.
Getting back in the Paj and just quietly looking forward to being back in the red dirt, we can’t think of a better way to end the year.
We promise to try and write as much as we can and more often! We love reading and keeping up to date with other blogs, so please let us know if there is a particular topic you want us to blog about, or even better if you want to head out on a overnight or weekend trip - GET IN TOUCH! We love exploring.
