Our long awaited Kimberley trek
We leave shortly for a holiday that Mr. has been planning for roughly 2 years (yep really that long) and there is a spreadsheet as well. This trip was actually the catalyst for us starting a blog. We wanted a way for our family and friends to experience the adventures too and consequently now any treks & travel we do.
I have to admit that when Mr. first mentioned he wanted to do a 4 week trip up to northern Western Australia I died a little inside. Why couldn’t it be 4 weeks in the US or even Europe I was thinking. To make things a little worse he mentioned we were going to camp the WHOLE time, yep camp, so romantic right. Don’t get me wrong I love four wheel driving and camping but 4 weeks was a little extreme even for me.
Given the fact that I have had 2 years to think about it and do my own research I’m actually now very excited. I tried to find as much information about others who had done a similar trip to us, but it was more difficult than I thought. I found small bits of information around and took them back to Mr. who had already read it and knew everything there was to know.
I have to say that he has done very well, he has broken up some of the camping with what some would call ‘glamping’ and not only that but chucked in some pretty awesome experiences in different locations too, that I can't wait to share with you.
We'll be visiting some of the more iconic locations,
- Cape Leveque
- Purnululu (better known as the Bungle Bungles)
- El Questro
- Gibb River Road.
There'll be a couple of lesser known homesteads and attractions thrown in between along with some tours that will be revealed later. Armed with our love for 4wding, experiencing new places and trying to take decent photos we're very excited to share our experiences and our thoughts with you. Check out what we've done to prep our Pajero for this trip and follow us on social media for our latest updates.
